The Scottsboro wrestling team posted a 1-3 record during the Class 1A-5A Region 7 Wrestling Duals Tournament at New Hope High School on Friday.

Scottsboro, the defending Class 1A-5A duals state champion, posted a 42-12 win over Susan Moore but suffered setbacks to Arab 66-18, Madison County 48-24 and New Hope 40-33.

Scottsboro was only able to fill seven of the 14 weight classes for each dual match, resulting in numerous forfeits.

Scottsboro's Clinton Stewart in the 126-pound weight class and Russell Proctor at 152 both recorded 4-0 records with three pins during the duals. 

Mason McKenzie at 106 went 3-1 with three pins and Lucas Bellomy at 220 and Kolby Clark at 285 both went 3-1 with two pins for the Wildcats, Keegan Travis was 2-2 with a pin at 160 and Josiah McDonald was 1-3 at 132.

Arab finished 4-0 and Madison County went 3-1 to advance to the AHSAA's Class 1A-5A State Duals Tournament quarterfinals on Jan. 16.
