The Scottsboro volleyball team fell to a ranked rival on Tuesday.

Visiting No.6-ranked Arab swept the Wildcats 3-0 during a best-of-five Class 5A Area 14 match at Carter Gymnasium.

The Knights won the opening game of the match 25-18 before taking the second game 25-9 and the third game 25-17.

Abby Jones recorded six assists, three solo blocks, three kills and four aces for Scottsboro (1-1). Caitlin Terrell posted four assists.

NSM 2, South Pittsburg (Tenn.) 1 — At Higdon, North Sand Mountain gave new head coach Samantha Alsobrook her first win as the team’s head coach with Tuesday’s victory.

NSM (1-1) rebounded from losing the first game of the match 25-14 to win the second game 25-22 and win the decisive third game 15-7.

Jasmine Higdon finished with seven kills, three blocks and one ace and Annabelle Westmoreland had three kills, one ace and one dig for NSM while Macy Smith had 16 digs and Candice Rimas had six digs and one assist. 

Ariana Christopher had four aces and one assisted block while Alexi Leake had one ace, one kill, two assisted blocks and one solo block, Willow Hale had four digs and one setter attack and Briley Bynum had one kill.

Pisgah falls to DAR, Brindlee Mountain — At Brindlee Mountain, Pisgah (2-2) lost to DAR 25-19, 25-22 and to Brindlee Mountain 25-22, 26-24 during a tri-match Tuesday night.

Annie Hughes recorded 15 kills and Molly Heard added seven during the two matches for the Eagles. 

Bella Bobo posted 10 assists and Hannah Duncan contributed nine.
