The defending Jackson County Boys Middle School Champion won a rematch of the last year’s championship game to start its new season.

Hollywood raced out to a 20-point lead after one quarter en route to a 67-16 win over visiting Dutton Tuesday night.

Keelan Alvarez scored 23 points for the Hawks while Holden Clark had 16 points, Kaleb Guess 13 and Erik Rayburn nine.

Skyline 42, Flat Rock 38 — At Flat Rock, visiting Skyline rallied for a win Tuesday.

Skyline trailed 9-4, 19-16 and 32-21 at the quarter breaks before outscoring Flat Rock 21-6 in the fourth to earn the win.

Jayton Prince scored 23 points and Bryant Kennamer added eight for Skyline. Tyler Grider scored 17 points and Carson Ellison pitched in eight for Flat Rock.


Hollywood 67, Dutton 15 — At Hollywood, the Hawks built a 27-4 lead after one quarter en route to the season-opening victory.

MyCaiden Wilborn scored 28 points and Casia Coffey poured in 23 points for Hollywood, which also got six each from Alex Wright and Kat Patton.

Jasmine Jonathan scored 11 points for Dutton.
