The 2019 Jackson County Track and Field meet was twice as nice for Pisgah.

The Eagles swept both the varsity girls and varsity boys division team county championships during the meet Thursday afternoon at North Jackson High School’s R.D. Hicks Stadium in Stevenson.

It was the eighth straight county title for the Pisgah girls. Meanwhile, the Pisgah boys won their first county championship since 2013.

“We are super proud of these kids,” said Pisgah head coach Gus Hembree. “These kids have worked hard, traveling to Section and Scottsboro to practice. I’m glad to see their efforts are being rewarded.”

Pisgah led the varsity girls standings with 201 points, with North Jackson finishing second (105), Section third (91), NSM fourth (25), Skyline fifth (24) and Woodville sixth (23).

Pisgah won the varsity boys division with 163.5 points, edging runner-up North Jackson (161) for the top spot. Section finished third (88 points) while NSM was fourth (84), Woodville fifth (42.5) and Skyline sixth (36).
