The Section girls basketball team gave head coach Stormy Stevens a milestone victory Tuesday night.
The Lions defeated visiting Sylvania 55-48 to record the 100th career win for Stevens, who is in his third season as his alma mater’s head coach after serving as Woodville’s head coach for three seasons.
Section (8-6) fell behind 11-3 after one quarter before trailing 26-20 at halftime and 38-34 after three quarters. But the Lions outscored Sylvania 21-10 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Haley Smart scored 10 of her game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter for Section while Madison Armstrong netted 13 points and Savannah White added 11.
Makayla Bullock and Kenadie Lee scored nine points for Sylvania (3-4) while Leianna Currie had seven.
Pisgah 70, Geraldine 51 — At Pisgah, the Eagles stormed out to a 22-point lead after one quarter on the way to the program’s 27 straight victory dating back to last season.
Pisgah (9-0) was in front 26-4, 39-23 and 65-33 at the quarter breaks.
Molly Heard scored 19 points and Kallie Tinker netted 16 for the Eagles, who also got 13 points and four assists from Madison Myers and 10 points from Chloe Womack.
Hannah Dalton scored 14 points and Gracie Rowell added 13 for Geraldine (4-7, 0-2).
Fyffe 75, NSM 16 — At Fyffe, North Sand Mountain (0-6) fell to 0-2 in Class 2A Area 15 play.
