Hannah Gant achieved a first for the Pisgah indoor track and field program.

The senior won the Class 1A-3A shot put state championship on Friday during the AHSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex.

Gant, who posted a winning mark of 33-06.75, was the first Pisgah athlete to win an indoor state title.

Her teammate, Kennedy Barron, just missed medaling in the shot put after posting a time of 30-07.25.

Gant also finished 15th in the triple jump. 

On the boys side, Tanner Baine posted a third-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:03.01) and was ninth in the 1600 (4:56.93) and 24th in the 3200 (11:57.67).

Meanwhile, A.J. Gant posted a 22nd-place finish in the shot put (31-10.25).
