A Scottsboro alum is the Gulf South Conference’s women’s pole vault champion.

Former SHS track and field standout and UAH senior Marcie Roberts won the women’s pole vault title during last weekend’s 2018 GSC Championships in Clinton, Mississippi.

Roberts cleared 3.35 meters (10-11.75 feet). Roberts entered the GSC Championships with the conference’s leading regular-season mark.

Another Scottsboro alum, UAH freshman John Dalton, posted a second-place finish in the men’s high jump. Dalton cleared the bar at 1.94 meters (6-04.24 feet).

Dalton also posted a 12th-place finish in the men’s long jump with a mark of 6.5 meters (21-04 feet).

Meanwhile, Scottsboro alum and Mississippi College thrower, Bailey McGaha- Potter, finished ninth in the men’s javelin throw with a mark of 42.08 meters (138-01 feet).
