The Pisgah varsity girls basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak Thursday night, but host Section did not make it an easy chore.

The Class 3A No. 2-ranked Eagles led by just one point at halftime before outscoring the Lions 19-3 in the third quarter on the way to a 76-59 regular-season ending victory at Section High School.

Pisgah (24-3) led 20-18 after one quarter and 40-39 at halftime before pulling in front 59-42 after three quarters.

Molly Heard scored 22 points and Kallie Tinker netted 14 for the Eagles while Chloe Womack pitched in 11, Madison Myers eight and Bella Bobo seven.

Savannah White scored a game-high 30 points for Section, which also got nine from Madison Armstrong and six from Jennifer Vega.

Skyline 57, John Carroll 48 — At Birmingham, Skyline made an early lead stand up during a victory over the Class 5A Cavs Thursday night.

Skyline (23-3) led 16-8, 25-20 and 41-35 at the quarter breaks.

Bailee Usrey led the Vikings with 16 points while Gracie Stucky had 15, Alli McAllister 13 and Brinlee Potts seven. 

Emma Bauer scored 20 points and Summer Killen added 11 for John Carroll (7-13).

Ider 47, Woodville 32 — At Woodville, Class 2A No. 10 Ider outscored the Panthers 14-5 in the fourth quarter to avoid the upset Thursday night.

Woodville (5-21) raced in front 12-5 after one quarter. But Ider pulled in front 20-16 at halftime and 33-27 after three quarters before taking charge in the final frame. 

Tia Edwards led Woodville with 10 points while Tia Edwards and Kayla Thompson had eight each.

Kayleigh Carson and Gracie Flynn scored 14 points each for Ider (21-6) while Alayna Chapman had 10 and Kinleigh Carson had six. 

SJPII 53, North Jackson 30 — At Huntsville, St. John Paul II built an 18-point halftime lead on the way to handing the Chiefs a setback on Thursday.

North Jackson (17-8) trailed 14-8, 30-12 and 37-21 at the quarter breaks.

Hadley Burnette, Alexis Moore and Summer Varnum scored seven points each for the Chiefs while Sarah Morgan pitched in six.

Hannah Holland and Passion Porter scored 12 and 11 points respectively for SJPII (16-9).

Plainview 55, NSM 29 — At Rainsville, the host team raced out to a double-figure lead on the way to defeating North Sand Mountain Thursday night.

NSM (3-16) fell behind 19-5 after one quarter and trailed 36-12 at halftime and 47-19 after three quarters.

Vickey Hassell scored seven points for the Bison while Kolbie Bobo and Jesse Weldon had four each.

Tobi Trotter scored a game-high 20 points for Plainview (18-9), which also got nine from Payton Blevins and eight from Katie Plunkett.

Hazel Green 68, Scottsboro 10 — At Hazel Green, the Wildcats fell to the defending Class 6A state champion and top-ranked Trojans on Thursday.

Carley Bell scored four points, Olivia Tubbs netted three and Madison Holland had two for the Wildcats.
