Section High School may be closed this week for Spring Break, but its baseball team’s bats haven’t taken the week off.

Drake McCutchen and Trevier Porter drove in four runs apiece and six Section players total drove in at least two runs each as the visiting Lions defeated rival Pisgah 21-4 Tuesday afternoon.

Section (5-4) built a 15-0 lead after its first two at-bats en route to a season-high run total. The win avenged the Lions’ loss to the Eagles in the Jackson County Tournament on March 16.

Porter finished 3-for-3 with a two-run single, a two-run triple, four RBIs total and three runs scored while Drake McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a  two-run double, a two-run single, four RBIs and four runs scored. Blake Henry went 2-for-3 with a two-run double, an RBI single, three RBIs and three runs scored and Jonathan Carroll went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored while Jacob Gentry went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Wiley McCutchen went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Layne White had two RBIs.

Gentry and Wiley McCutchen combined on a two-hitter for the Lions. Gentry recorded four strikeouts over two innings and Wiley McCutchen had six strikeouts over three innings.
