Runners from Skyline, Woodville and North Jackson got a little muddy on Tuesday.
The schools competed in the Randolph Cross Country Classic is also referred to as the Randolph “Run in the Mud” because the course at UAH in Huntsville requires crossing a creek four times during the race. Woodville’s boys finished 18th (480 points) in the Class 1A-4A varsity boys standings while North Jackson placed 19th (541).
Hunter Sisk paced the Woodville effort with a 59th (21:23.46) while Jacob Chambers finished 108th (23:12.37), Jacob Lack 130th (24:11.32), Logan Boggs 199th (29:02.19) and Russell Roswal 205th (29:29.37).
Daniel Feigel placed 115th (23:28.71) for North Jackson while Garett Blevins was 142nd (25:05.46), Edgar Sanchez 156th (25:44.24), Jonathan York 164th (26:38.69), Will Rich 178th (27:32.14) and Ryan Terry 235th (31:13.93).
For Skyline, Nathan Olinger finished 48th (21:05.14) while Kordell Talley was 89th (22:31.97) and Tristan Roach was 184th (28:07.68)
Meanwhile, North Jackson’s Delana Pierce recorded a 15th-place finish (24:03.15) in the Class 1A-4A-varsity girls race.
Emily Gilley added a 38th-place finish for the Chiefs (25:31.58) while Lily Smith was 119th (33:24.20) and Jayden Johnson 145th (37:33.48).
Skyline’s Kaylee Saint finished 117th (32:32.34).
