State Duals Champions

Scottsboro won the Class 1A-5A Wrestling Duals state championship Friday night with a 50-24 victory over St. James.

The Scottsboro wrestling program made history Friday night.

The Wildcats defeated St. James of Montgomery 50-24 to win the Class 1A-5A Wrestling Duals state championship at the Birmingham Crossplex's Bill Harris Arena.

It’s Scottsboro first duals state championship. The AHSAA began holding duals state tournaments for Class 1A-5A, 6A and 7A in 2017.

The Wildcats won nine of the duals’ 14 matches.

Scottsboro’s Mason McKenzie (106-pound weight class), Jordan Porter (126), Kolton Clark (182), Tre Billingsley (195), Caleb Anderson (220) and Bradford Womack (285) all won via pin while Connor Calfee (160) and Damian Ramirez (170) won via major decision and Clinton Stewart (113) received a forfeit victory.
