The Pisgah cross country teams added a pair of Top-10 finishes to their 2018 season resumes. 

Pisgah finished sixth in the boys division and seventh in the girls divisions in the Class 1A-3A races at Cold Spring High School’s Kudzu Hills Invitational Saturday in Bremen.

Pisgah finished sixth in the Class 1A-3A boys division with 163 points. Host Cold Springs won with a winning low score of 66, followed by runner-up Altamont (71). Cold Springs also won the girls division, edging Saint James by two points for the top spot.

Garrett Ellison paced the Pisgah boys, finishing 20th with a time of 19:09.76. Zach Cornelison followed in 21st-place (19:16.19) for the Eagles while Tanner Baine was 25th (19:21.00), Trey Barrentine 49th (20:48.01), Dalton Wilson 78th (23:01.81), Holden Goff 92nd (24:00.02), Bailey Johnson 110th (25:52.59), Mason Overdear 113th (26:30.96), Bryant Overdear 114th (26:33.83) and Blake Giles 126th (30:49.64).

Lauren Peek led the Pisgah girls with a 23rd-place (24:000.95), finish while Rylee Bell was 24th (24:02.82), Cecilia Garner 30th (24:12.69), Briley Hembree 42nd (25:20.34), Madison Phillips 45th (26:06.21), Ally Darwin 53rd (26:43.15), Emma Ellison 63rd (27:21.17), Jordi Haynes 66th (27:36.18), Katie Guffey 68th (27:41.64), Taylor McBride 82nd (28:58.04), Gracie Mckee 88th (29:50.42) and Addison Goff 92nd (30:07.18).

Arab Invitational — At Arab, the Section girls cross country team posted a ninth-place finish during Saturday’s Arab Invitational at Arab City Park.

Cindal Myers led the Section effort, placing 13th with a time of 25:01.80. Jennifer Vega finished 41st (28:22.50) for the Lions while Madison Armstrong was 56th (30:31.30), Morgan Armstrong 60th (31:05.03) and Makayla Rowell 81st (35:47.44)

Meanwhile, Section’s Wiley McCutchen finished 46th (21:22.44) while running as an individual in the boys race.

Woodville finished 15th in the team standings with 415 points.

Jacob Lack finished 56th (22:01.96) for Woodville while Hunter Sisk was 93rd (24:06.10), Eli Chambers 133rd (28:44.33), Logan Boggs 134th (28:44.43) and Russell Roswal 141st (31:38.37).
